Course fees
The cost of our teacher training programme is £9,535.
This covers both the Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) award and the opportunity to gain a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with 60 Master’s level credits, delivered in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University.
Tuition fee and maintenance loans
Most trainees choose to fund their training through Student Finance.
-
Tuition fee loan – Covers the full £9,535 fee, paid directly to us.
-
Maintenance loan – Helps with living costs during your training year. The amount depends on your personal circumstances and household income.
Both loans are subject to eligibility and are repaid only once you are earning above the repayment threshold.
Bursaries and scholarships
If you are training to teach certain secondary subjects, you may be eligible for a tax-free government bursary or scholarship.
Bursary amounts and eligible subjects change each year, so it’s important to check the latest guidance.
See the current bursary and scholarship information on the Get Into Teaching website.
Self-financing options
If you prefer to self-fund your training, there are flexible payment options available:
-
Single payment – Pay the full £9,535 at the start of the course.
-
Three instalments – Split payments across the academic year.
-
Ten monthly instalments – Pay £953.50 per month between October and July.
