How the Computing SCITT programme works
The Computing SCITT is delivered through a mix of school placements, centre-based training and subject-specific development. You will spend two main blocks in partnership schools across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and Somerset. During placements, you will work closely with experienced mentors who provide regular feedback, guidance and challenge.
Training begins with small group teaching and gradually builds towards full class responsibility. Intensive practice weeks, professional learning conversations and expert-led workshops ensure you can link theory to practice. Subject-specific training is led by Computing specialists and focuses on pedagogy, progression and developing strong subject knowledge. You will also gain enhanced experience teaching Post-16 learners.
Why choose this programme?
This Computing SCITT is built on a strong partnership between the Five Counties SCITT and the Cabot Learning Federation. Our programme was judged Outstanding by Ofsted (March 2024), reflecting our commitment to excellence, inclusion and professional support.
