Who we are

I have worked in education for over 20 years initially qualifying as a primary school teacher. After 6 years of working as an infant school teacher I moved into leadership managing a key stage and leading on literacy, assessment and teaching and learning. I led literacy training across Bristol City Council and was a specialist leader of education providing support for leaders across the city. In 2013 I was promoted to Assistant Head and Inclusion lead within a large primary school which is when I also started working within Initial Teacher Training. I took on the role of Director of ITT in 2017 leading on the development of the ‘Outstanding’ Five Counties SCITT programme.

Primary school teacher of 31 years. I worked as a Maths advisor and Advanced Skills Teacher (AST) for North Somerset LEA during this time. My last teaching post was in a Y6 classroom in a local primary academy which I left in 2023. I have a strong interest in the teaching and learning of primary mathematics and was a mathematics subject leader.

After leaving a short-lived career in banking, I embarked on my PGCE in 2001 and have since been teaching MFL in South Gloucestershire schools. I became involved in subject leadership, training and development and SLE work before undertaking roles supporting NQTs and ITTs. In 2021, I started to work in partnership with the SCITT which led to a secondment as a Secondary Tutor last year whilst still teaching. I joined Five Counties SCITT in September 2024 as a permanent member of the team.

I have worked in secondary education for 30 years, firstly as an English teacher and over time progressing to Head of Department. I gained Advanced Skills status in 2010 and have been involved in school improvement for nearly 15 years. More recently I have joined the SCITT team as a programme tutor and I also support ECTs across the Trust.

Over 30 years experience providing administrative support in various roles including 22 years in the education sector both in schools and centrally. Roles have included SCITT Administrator, HR Assistant, Cover Coordinator, Timetabler and New Deal Advisor helping long term unemployed 18-24 year olds find work. Volunteered as an Academy Councillor (Safeguarding) for over 4 years.

I have worked in secondary education for 25 years, firstly as a drama teacher and over time progressing to Head of Department. I have worked as Head of the Teaching School for the Clevedon Learning Trust, running their ITT and ECT programmes alongside the CPD. More recently I have joined the SCITT team as a professional tutor and I also support ECTs across the Trust.

I have worked within education for over 9 years, taking on a variety of roles across finance and administration for the CLF Institute and Boolean Maths Hub. Since the Five Counties Teaching School Hubs Alliance was established, I’ve been proud to be part of the team, firstly as administrator for the Appropriate Body Service supporting early career teachers in their induction, and now for Five Counties SCITT.
