How the Primary with Maths (5-11) SCITT programme works
You’ll train across two main placements in contrasting schools, supported by expert mentors who guide your progress throughout the year. Placement expectations are carefully structured so you build up from working with small groups to planning and delivering whole lessons, sequences of learning, and eventually taking full responsibility for a class.
Centre-based training is combined with school-based practice, allowing you to link theory with classroom application. Intensive practice weeks focus on key curriculum areas, while enhanced maths training deepens your subject knowledge and pedagogy. You’ll work alongside specialist educators, developing skills that help children enjoy maths and succeed as confident learners.
